MG (RET) Kirk F. Vollmecke, Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Major General (ret) Kirk F. Vollmecke retired from the U.S. Army, 1 September 2019 after over 35 years of service to our Nation. His last duty assignment was as the Program Executive Officer for Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors (PEO IEW&S) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD from April 2016 through May 2019. As the former PEO IEW&S, he led and directed a $3B+ National and Military Intelligence Program (NIP/MIP) portfolio of 50+ major acquisition programs and quick reaction capabilities involving Biometrics, Electronic Warfare/Offensive Cyber, Tactical Space Superiority (TSS), Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities (TENCAP), Distributed Common Ground Station—Army (DCGS-A), Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) Sensors (Manned/Unmanned), Persistent Surveillance-Tethered Aerostat, Force Protection, Assured-Position, Navigation and Timing (A-PNT), Third-Generation Forward Looking Infrared (3G FLIR) and Aircraft Survivability Detection/Countermeasure capabilities for Joint/Army Forces and Combatant Commands/Service Component Commands including CENTCOM, SOCOM/JSOC, CYBERCOM, AFRICOM, EUCOM, and INDOPACOM.
MG (ret) Vollmecke was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 1984 through ROTC as a distinguished military graduate of the Centre College of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Management. He also graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1992 where he earned a Master of Science Degree in Management with a concentration in Acquisition and Procurement Management. He is a 1999 graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff and a graduate of the U.S. Army War College in 2004.
MG (ret) Vollmecke served in a wide range of assignments over his Army career to include Defense Agencies and Joint Staff. He is fully Joint Qualified and his operational and combat deployments include OPERATION DESERT FALCON, IRAQI FREEDOM, and ENDURING FREEDOM/FREEDOM’s SENTINEL, respectively.
Prior to assuming his responsibilities as the Chief Operating Officer of MICROTECH, MG (ret) Vollmecke was a Senior Director for Corporate Strategy at Peraton and part-time Outside Director of a Special Security Agreement (SSA) Board for Codan, Ltd. Before Peraton, he was a Principal at Booz Allen Hamilton in 2021 and the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of MICROTECH from 2020 – 2021. Since his retirement from the military in 2019, MG (ret) Vollmecke has also consulted and remote lectured for the Naval Postgraduate School, School of Defense Management
