Vienna, VA – March 24, 2010—MicroTech President & CEO Tony Jimenez was recognized March 22nd at the 21st Annual “Federal 100” Awards ceremony as one of the Top 100 leaders from government, industry and academia who significantly influences how the Federal government buys, uses or manages Information Technology. This is his second appearance on the prestigious list. Held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington DC, Federal Computer Week was the host of the event.

Chosen by a special committee named by Federal Computer Week, the list also includes such notable business and government leaders as Federal Chief Information Officer (CIO) Vivek Kundra; CACI International CEO Paul Cofoni; U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs CIORoger Baker; and Founder of Craigslist, Craig Newmark. The individuals chosen for the award represent nearly every critical government sector and public service mission.

"It's an honor to join such a prestigious group," Jimenez said. "The award reflects the substantial success MicroTech enjoyed last year, setting the standard for small businesses in the Federal IT marketplace.”

The Federal 100 awards have become an annual benchmark for excellence in the government Information Technology community.  Federal Computer Week said the key criterion for selection to the Federal 100 is impact.

“Tony [Jimenez] has put small, veteran-owned businesses on the map by proving that those businesses can come in and do great-quality work,” said Deidre Lee, former DoD, FEMA, GSA and OMB, Acquisition and Procurement Senior Leader.

The panel of judges included Dave M. Wennergren, Deputy Assistant Secretary and Deputy CIO, DoD; Martha Dorris, Deputy Associate Administrator of Citizen Services, GSA; Michael Duffy, Deputy Assistant Secretary and CIO, Treasury Department; Linda Gooden, Exec. VP, Information Systems and Global Services, Lockheed Martin; Olga Grkavac, Exec. VP, TechAmerica; Michael Howell, Deputy Administrator of
E-Government and Information Technology, OMB; Lt. Gen. William T. Lord, Chief of Warfighting Integration and CIO; Office of the Secretary of the Air Force; and Jerry E. Williams, CIO, HUD.
