January 12, 2010–WASHINGTON, DC–The Washington Wizards and MicroTech will salute members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families during a special “Military Appreciation Night,” tonight at Verizon Center when the Wizards host the Detroit Pistons.

MicroTech, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and a Top-25 Disabled Veteran Owned Business nationally, has provided 400 tickets to area service personnel, veterans, and their families, including a number of wounded patriots. The USO was instrumental in distributing the tickets, as all branches of the service will be represented at the event.

“It’s such an honor for MicroTech to be able to host this special night for our troops,” said Tony Jimenez, President and CEO of MicroTech and a retired, decorated military veteran. “MicroTech is saluting those who have given so much to keep us safe. They are the best this country has to offer and deserve to be recognized at this unique event."

During the game, Jimenez will be interviewed by Dave Johnson, the radio voice of the Washington Wizards.

The special event at Verizon Center starts at 6:00 pm; prior to the scheduled 7:00 pm start time of the basketball game.  Along with the USO and American Legion, representatives of MicroTech will meet fans and hand out information at a specially designated MicroTech display on the concourse at the 7th and G Street entrance. The event will also include an official Air Force Color Guard, and during halftime, the DC Army National Guard will hold a swearing-in ceremony for its newest members from the District.
