The Missile Defense Agency is responsible for managing, directing, and executing the U.S. Ballistic Missile Defense Program. Since receiving Presidential direction in December 2002, MDA has delivered an initial defensive capability to the Warfighter while continually developing a more technically sophisticated system to stay ahead of the evolving ballistic missile threat.
An award-winning small business, MicroTech provides Information Technology Systems and Services, Strategic Solutions, Product Solutions, Consulting Services, as well as Audio-Visual Telecommunications Design and Installation, primarily to civilian government and military clients. From service branches to key agencies – MicroTech manages over half a million IT users daily.
“We are honored that MDA has selected MicroTech to support MDA’s objective of building the largest and most advanced classified VTC network in DoD,” said Tony Jimenez, President and CEO of MicroTech. “With MicroTech’s support — MDA provides over two million port-minutes and 25,000 VTC sessions a year — and has become the recognized leader in integrating next-generation VTC technologies within the DoD and Federal government.”
MicroTech offers an array of Visual Telecommunications (VTC) solutions including Infrastructure services like Audio and Video Bridging that enables simultaneous connections between multiple sites; Audio-Visual Communications like Video Teleconferencing systems; Secure Conferencing solutions such as Multipoint Video, Secure Audio Bridging, and MultiClass S3™ — the most integrated and fully-automated switching solution available today.
Under the terms of the MDA contract, MicroTech operates and maintains existing and planned Video Teleconference (VTC) and related infrastructure, facilities, and environment in multiple locations, including MDA offices in the Washington, DC metropolitan area; in Arlington, Falls Church and Dahlgren, all in Virginia. MicroTech also supports MDA locations around the U.S. including The Missile Defense Integration Operations Center at Schriever Air Force Base (AFB) in Colorado; Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, at multiple sites in Huntsville, Alabama, and at Fort Greely in Alaska.
Video Teleconference is a critical capability for MDA that supports the centralized cost-effective program executive decision analysis, performance assessment, agency collaborative management, and rapid unified reporting to the President, Secretary of Defense, and Combatant Commander.
“The contract extension reinforces the major contribution MicroTech has made to the communication capabilities of the Missile Defense Agency over the course of this groundbreaking government program,” Jimenez said. “We’re proud of our accomplishments as a Sole Source provider to the government, and of our strong business partnership with MDA.”
