One of the most highly-regarded network and IT systems integrators in the U.S., MicroTech provides Information Technology Systems and Services, Strategic Solutions, Audio-Visual Telecommunications Design and Installation, Product Solutions, and Consulting Services primarily to the Federal Government, and city, state, and local agencies - managing over 400,000 IT users daily. This is the first appearance of MicroTech on the Fantastic 50 list.
“It is a great honor to be recognized by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce as the top growth company in the state, and demonstrates the hard work, persistence, and dedication of our employees,” said Tony Jimenez, President and CEO of MicroTech. “Since our inception five years ago, MicroTech’s success has been based on our commitment to cultivating and developing the finest professionals and doing the kind of work that makes us a sought after business and a top-tier solution provider. Headquartering our company in Virginia - a state recognized for its strong technology sector and tremendous support of business - provides us with a competitive advantage when it comes to recruiting a well-educated, highly-skilled workforce.”
This year, U.S. News and World Report recognized Virginia as second best to only the state of Washington as the Best State to Start a Business, ranking states based on how friendly they are to entrepreneurs like Tony Jimenez. In 2008, Forbes named Virginia the Best State for Business, and CNBC ranked the Old Dominion as the runner up to Texas as the Top State for Business.
The Virginia Chamber competition recognizing the top performers in the state based their rankings on demonstrated strongest sales growth from 2004 through 2007. Since then, size and revenue wise, MicroTech has continued to grow exponentially, leading to recent industry accolades like Inc. Magazine’s prestigious Inc. 500, ranking the 500 fastest growing private companies nationally, the Washington Business Journal Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies, the Hispanic Business HB500 - as a Top 500 Hispanic-Owned Business - and the Washington Technology Top 25 8(a), recognizing the most successful 8(a) small businesses in the government marketplace.
MicroTech, along with the other Fantastic 50 winners, was honored Thursday, April 30, at a banquet held at Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, just outside of Washington, DC. Steve Truitt, MicroTech’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), accepted the award on behalf of the MicroTech Team. MicroTech will be profiled as a Fantastic 50 winner in a special section of the May issue of Virginia Business.
The Fantastic 50 honor, coinciding with the five-year anniversary of MicroTech’s humble launch at the kitchen table of Tony Jimenez’ home, is truly an American success story. “We are proud of our achievement, especially in the very competitive Federal contracting arena,” Jimenez said. “And as a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business, having had to overcome many business obstacles and roadblocks, we appreciate the support that organizations like the Virginia Chamber have provided us.”
