The Sam’s Club-sponsored Blue Ribbon award, in conjunction with the U.S. Chamber, pays tribute to small businesses like MicroTech that put special focus on financial growth, investment in staff training and motivation of employees, community involvement, customer service, and business planning.
“The Blue Ribbon Small Business award means more than just looking at the bottom line,” said Thomas J. Donohue, the U.S. Chamber’s President and CEO. “This award is for businesses that are committed to supporting their employees, following best business practices, and improving their communities. These businesses have made that commitment and we are proud to recognize their contributions.”
One of the most highly-regarded and fastest-growing small businesses, MicroTech provides Information Technology Systems and Services, Strategic Solutions, Audio-Visual Telecommunications Design and Installation, Product Solutions and Consulting Services primarily to the U.S. Federal Government, and city, state, and local agencies – managing over 400,000 users daily.
“We are very pleased to be honored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a Blue Ribbon Small Business,” said Tony Jimenez, President and CEO of MicroTech. “The business ideals that make up the Blue Ribbon award criteria — investing in employee training, community involvement, and making customer service a priority — have always been the foundation of MicroTech’s success.”
“Winners of the Blue Ribbon Small Business Award represent the country’s finest business success stories,” Donohue said. “In today’s difficult business climate, it is especially important to highlight those companies that continue to excel. It is their dedication to sound business principles that will enable us to rebuild our nation’s economy.”
MicroTech and other award winners from around the country will be honored at America’s Small Business Summit 2009, May 11–13, in Washington, DC.
“Awards like the U.S. Chamber’s Blue Ribbon provide an important industry showcase for high-achieving small businesses,” said Jimenez. “MicroTech can compete with businesses much larger in size and scope because of the solid support of industry groups like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.”
