Vienna, VA, November 7, 2008—MicroTech, a leading Information Technology, network support, communications and systems engineering firm, today announces that it has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification – an internationally recognized quality management system standard – from Intertek, a quality management systems certification body.

ISO 9001:2000 was developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). To be certified to the standard, companies must implement a well documented Quality Management System (QMS) that ensures consistency and improvement of working practices, including the products and services produced. Certification to ISO 9001:2000 reinforces to customers, through an independent third-party, that MicroTech (Microtech.net) operates a QMS in accordance with the standard.

"This recognition communicates to our customers worldwide that they are working with an organization that prides itself in incorporating the very best practices and processes in the industry, to consistently meet or exceed their needs," said Tony Jimenez, CEO and President at MicroTech. “Customer satisfaction has always been our highest priority, and a keystone of our corporate values. Achieving ISO 9001:2000 certification is further evidence of the unwavering commitment MicroTech has in providing customers with products and services that they can have complete confidence in when performing mission-critical signal processing applications – today and in the future."

MicroTech’s COO, Steve Truitt notes, “The discipline required to pursue the ISO 9001:2000 standard results in direct benefits for our customers. Increased customer satisfaction becomes a codified, explicit organizational goal for MicroTech as we build processes and metrics to identify their needs and measure satisfaction with our service delivery and work products. This certification is a critical element in offering world-class solutions and a natural progression of our long-standing commitment to total quality improvement principles we have woven into the corporate fabric of MicroTech since the beginning.”

MicroTech began the registration process in July 2008, as part of the ISO 9001:2000 certification process. Intertek performed on-site assessments, examined documented procedures, and audited the overall operations of MicroTech to determine continued compliance with ISO 9001:2000. Intertek will periodically conduct routine surveillance audits of MicroTech’s business operations to ensure compliance.
