Vienna, VA, October 3, 2008—MicroTechnologies, LLC (D.B.A. MicroTech), a leading Information Technology, network support, communications and systems engineering firm, announces recognition in Washington Business Journal’s 2008 list of the “50 Fastest Growing Companies” in the Greater Washington region. MicroTech was ranked eighth on the list and received the award at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The list included local companies from all industries, demonstrating that MicroTech’s notable growth is impressive irrespective of business sector.

“We are extremely excited to have made the Washington list of Fastest Growing Companies,” said Tony Jimenez, MicroTech’s CEO. “In an increasingly competitive marketplace, this selection validates the dedication and innovation that MicroTech employees bring to our clients and partners. We’re shooting to the top of the list in 2009!”

The annual “Fastest Growing Companies” list ranks the Top 50 companies in Northern Virginia, Montgomery and Prince Georges Counties in Maryland, as well as the District – based on revenue growth. Along with high-growth rates, companies must have realized 2005 revenue of more-than-$2 million, and 2007 revenue of more-than-$10 million. The 2008 list is profiled in the October 3 issue and special supplement of the weekly publication.

MicroTech’s plans for future growth include both organic growth, as well as possible acquisitions. In July, MicroTech purchased the assets of the Visual Communications Division of SIGCOM. Based in Greensboro, NC, SIGCOM has been a pioneer and leader for over 20 years in visual communications, video teleconferencing services, audio visual integration, Internet Protocol (IP) network services, streaming video solutions, and many other types of communications technical services and solutions. A particular area of focus is providing secure, high quality, high-volume video conferencing services over IP networks. With this acquisition, MicroTech will provide managed solutions for the most demanding conferencing and collaboration technology, supporting mission-critical requirements throughout the Department of Defense (DoD), other federal agencies, and commercial clients.
