MicroTech CEO is selected as the Entrepreneur of the Year for InfoBusiness by Hispanic Business Magazine, Company Recognized as a Contemporary Model for Entrepreneurship
Vienna, VA, November 12, 2007—Today MicroTech, an Information Technology (IT) and Network Support Services business announced that it's President and CEO, Anthony Jimenez, has been selected as the “Entrepreneur of the Year” for InfoBusiness by Hispanic Business Magazine.
Hispanic Business magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards are dedicated to celebrating the successes of U.S. Hispanic entrepreneurs in five major categories: Heavy Industry, Infobusiness, Latina, Rising Star, and Trade Industry. Faculty from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business judged the finalists and selected a winner in each of the five categories. Nominees were judged on the following criteria: the company's 2005, 2006 and 2007 business performance (including revenue, growth, ROI, productivity, and net worth); effectiveness of the company's business management; employee growth and development; and investment in fostering entrepreneurship.
"Everyone here at MicroTech is extremely honored to receive this award from the Hispanic Business Community," notes MicroTech's President and CEO Tony Jimenez. "This recognition is very meaningful because it honors the entrepreneurial spirit that lives and thrives among Hispanics and it is recognition that comes from the Hispanic business community."
Over the past year, MicroTech has followed a national trend of notable growth among Hispanic-Owned small businesses. The US Census Bureau reports there are over 1.6 million Hispanic owned businesses in the United States accounting for more than $222 Billion in revenue. In addition, Hispanic-Owned small businesses grew at a faster pace than the national average.
