What is the Montgomery IT Summit?
The event begins on Monday May 21nd, 2018 with the annual Montgomery AFCEA Charity Golf Tournament, with proceeds benefiting the Montgomery AFCEA Chapter Educational Foundation. Since its inception, the Educational Foundation has invested over $3 million dollars in scholarships and other benefits for Montgomery area students, helping to transform Montgomery into one of the fastest growing centers of technical excellence in the Southern United States.
On Tuesday May 22nd, 2018 the two-day conference portion of Montgomery IT Summit begins. This year’s theme is “Capability @ Speed of Need”. The theme was selected to foster a dialogue around the goals and challenges to achieve the speed of delivery required by the warfighter. The warfighter counts on the reliable and timely delivery of weapons in an environment where positive command & control plus air superiority is foundational. Our delivery of information and decision support capability should be just as assured and timely if we’re to maintain our strategic superiority. Timely delivery requires a portfolio management focus across the enterprise of systems throughout the entire life-cycle, providing incentives for timely delivery of quality and innovative capabilities at a fair and reasonable price. Timely delivery of these capabilities is impacted from a variety of factors that include everything from requirements development, funding, acquisition; through security, testing and deployment.
