Looking out to a picturesque view of the Capital, the Ambassador of Mexico to the U.S., Amb. Eduardo Medina Mora, and U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Amb. Anthony Wayne, took to the podium yesterday evening to deliver the Keynote Address at the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce annual conference. MicroTech is an Ambassadorial Sponsor of the two-day event celebrating the partnership between private and public leaders in Mexico and the United States.

MicroTech President & CEO, Tony Jimenez, attended the opening reception at the Jones Day Building with Senior Vice President of Product Solutions, Bill Collins; VP of Commercial Solutions, Jerry Nappi; VP of Business Development, Adam Snow; and Director of IDIQ Programs, Marko Nikituk.

Jimenez became a board member of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce Binational Board of Directors in the 2009. Established as a 501 (c) (6) non-profit association in 1973, the Chamber operates 12 chapters to assist local businesses in bridging differences in language and culture, legal, regulatory, and economic systems.

Jimenez said, “The U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce is doing tremendous work in connecting our two countries. It’s been a pleasure to serve on their board, because together we increase relations which increases trade. That all boils down to creating more jobs for talented people, and that’s what this country is all about--opportunity.”

The Ambassadors spoke about President Obama’s recent visit to Mexico and the 20 year anniversary of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). As one of the only U.S. IT service providers at the conference, MicroTech has made strategic investments in Mexico’s manufacturing boom, launching MicroTech International this year with Tomás Esterrich, Senior VP, as the Executive Director.

Along with Esterrich, MicroTech representatives will also attend the Good Neighbor Awards Gala at the Organization of American States building tonight: Sandy Scott, Contracts Manager; Edwin Hernandez, Technical Director; Carlos Cantarilho, VP/Managing Director of Product Solutions; and Kristopher Parker, Corporate Attorney. They’ll be at the MicroTech table accompanied by representatives from the Embassy of Mexico.

The Good Neighbor Awards will recognize the Honorable Ken Salazar, U.S. Secretary of the Interior; the Honorable Luis Tellez, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the Mexican Stock Exchange; and Mr. Juan Antonio González Moreno, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GRUMA, the worldwide leader in corn tortillas.

The “Jose Juan de Olloqui Award for Hemispheric Leadership" will go to the Honorable Miguel Alemán Velasco, Chairman of Interjet, Chair of the Board of Trustees of President Miguel Aleman Foundation, President of Mexico Business Summit, Former President of Mexico’s Senate, Former Ambassador At Large for NAFTA, Former Governor of Veracruz and Honorary President of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce.

The Honorable Silvestre Reyes (TX-D), U.S. Representative (1997-2013); Mr. Luis Torres Días, Grupo Caborca; and Mr. Gerardo Funes, Former Vice President of Communications & Director -National Office, U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce will receive special recognition as well.
