MicroTech was a Bronze Sponsor of the Association for Federal Information Resources Management (AFFIRM) Leaderships Awards Luncheon yesterday at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. The awards recognize Federal information technology leaders for their sustained innovation in the government sphere. Representing MicroTech at the event was Jay White, Vice President of Business Development.
MicroTech President & CEO, Tony Jimenez, is a previous AFFIRM Leadership Awards winner. In 2011, he was recognized with the Executive Leadership Award for Industry in Government.
Some of the winners of yesterday’s event were Simon Szykman, CIO, DOC; LTG Susan Lawrence, CIO, US Army; Vincent Capezzuto, Director, Air Traffic Systems, PMO, FAA; Tony Trenkle, CIO, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, HHS; and Zachary Baldwin, Program Manager, Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative, GSA.
In addition to awarding those raising the bar on IT innovation in government, the 501(c) (3) non-profit, educational organization uses the sponsorship monies from companies like MicroTech to grant scholarships to IT students. The organization maintains endowments with the University of Maryland-University College and the Syracuse University School of Information Studies (iSchool).
