MicroTech President and CEO Tony Jimenez was named a GovCon Executive of the Year finalist last night at the 10th annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards Finalist Reception in Tysons Corner, Virginia. This is Jimenez’s second consecutive year as a GovCon finalist. MicroTech has also been recognized as a GovCon Contractor of the Year finalist in previous years.
The 2012 Executive of the Year award is presented to a government contracting executive in the Washington-area who is recognized for outstanding contributions to his/her company, the community and the government contracting industry during 2011 and is awarded in three categories based on gross revenue.
“I am honored to be recognized as a finalist for Executive of the Year again this year. Although this is an individual award, be assured without my entire MicroTech team this would not have been possible.” said Jimenez. “The GovCon awards recognize the best of the best in government contracting and I am honored to be part of such a prestigious group.”
There was a lot of excitement in government contracting community for the event last night. The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce’s website explains the event’s prestige, saying it “has been dubbed the "Academy Awards of Government Contracting." The winners will be announced at the 10th annual GovCon Awards Gala on November 1.
