On April 15, 2015 MicroTech President and CEO Tony Jimenez attended a Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) Gala honoring Judith L. Lichtman an American attorney specializing in women’s rights and an advocate for human and civil rights, Rubén E. Hinojosa the U.S. Representative for Texas's 15th congressional district for his excellence in Government and his fantastic achievements as a leader and advocate, and Maria Contreras-Sweet the 24th and current Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA). Ms. Contreras-Sweet also served as the key note speaker at the event. 

MALDEF is the nation’s leading Latino legal civil rights organization.  Often described as the “law firm of the Latino community”, MALDEF promotes social change through advocacy, communications, community education, and litigation in the areas of education, employment, immigrant rights, and political access.
